Peter’s Rescue from Prison describes how St. Peter was imprisoned by King Herod and guarded by soldiers. The Christian community prayed fervently for his release. During the night, an angel appeared, freed Peter’s chains, and led him safely past the guards and out of the prison. At first, Peter thought it was a vision, but he soon realized God had truly delivered him. He went to the house of believers, astonishing them with his escape.
